You have a successful career, a fulfilling family life, and passions that bring you satisfaction, but the last thing not yet under your control is your diet. You have tried to lose weight without success or simply haven’t had the time and energy to start a restrictive diet. Or maybe you had an intuition that reaching your ideal weight shouldn’t require counting every calorie. If you resonate with this, the “Nourishing Wins” podcast is for you. Our body is impressive, capable of doing extraordinary things. Things that don’t seem connected at first glance influence your ability to lose weight. Your microbiome, more precisely, whether you have certain types of bacteria and how diverse your microbial community is, determines how easy or hard it will be to lose weight and how many calories you will extract from food. By changing your diet, you can change your microbiome. On the other hand, the beliefs you have about your body and your ability to succeed play an essential role in your weight loss goal. Cognitive dissonance is very uncomfortable for our brain: believing that two contradictory thoughts are true. For example, “I have never liked my body” and “I will have a beautiful body.” The first thought, being deeply rooted, will eliminate the second and will try to create or maintain a reality that confirms it: having a body you don’t like. This will compromise your goal of losing weight. In this podcast you will find information and practical tools to nourish your body and manage your thoughts so that you have a healthy body, brimming with vitality. The food you choose is the most precious gift you offer your body, more important than any cream, perfume, or clothing. It is the foundation of your well-being and the energy needed to lead our life and achieve your goals. One of my values regarding the information I share through this podcast is scientific evidence. I aim for all the nutritional concepts I share with you to be confirmed by scientific studies. Even so, there are no one-size-fits-all solutions. Our bodies react differently to the same foods or lifestyle interventions. Therefore, listening to your body and an individual approach are essential if you want to change your diet or lose weight. To achieve the desired result, another essential thing is the effective formation of new habits. Because a mistake we always make is believing that just having the information is enough to change behavior. Changes of any kind, especially lifestyle changes, have always been challenging for people. BJ Fogg, a behavior scientist at Stanford, says that only three things lead to lasting change: having a revelation, a change of environment, or small changes made day by day that lead to significant results. Last but not least, I created this podcast out of profound respect for women. For their inner strength, patience, wisdom, and their significant contribution to society. Starting from the family to the leadership work they do in its economic or public life. I am very happy you are here, and we meet every Thursday for a new episode of “Nourishing Wins.”
